About Us

A Guy & A Hammer is a full-service home renovations company specializing in kitchen, bath, basement finish, and whole-house remodeling. Founded in 1997, clients have come to trust us for our innovative design, quality craftsmanship, and fulfillment of expectations. We have all the skills and resources needed to take on your residential remodeling or renovation project.

Our Story 

Founded by Tim Bader in 1997, the company initially operated as a one-man operation, with Tim relying solely on his skills and a few basic tools. Despite the humble beginnings, Tim had a clear vision for the company’s growth. Through years of dedicated work, he successfully completed numerous small remodeling projects and several medium-sized renovations. Persistence was key during this period. In 2023, Zachary Bader acquired the company, ushering in a new chapter of its evolution.

Today, we are proud to say that we have become one of the most trusted, longest-running home renovation companies in and around the Green Bay area. We are now more than capable of handling various projects ranging from bathroom remodeling to large-scale home renovations and additions. Just tell us what you need.     Tim and Zach did an outstanding job from the original design and estimate through the finished product, and no surprises. The sunporch restoration of our 112-year-old historic home is structurally stable and a thing of beauty. It is consistent with the original architectural design and craftmanship of our home and meets the historic district standards of the city of De Pere.

    A Guy and A Hammer is worth the investment. Tim and Zach are personable and responsive to any question you have. In our house in Shawano they turned our half bath into a wonderful full bath!
